I wanted something spring-like for dinner since it is now spring! (as of 2:32 pm today!) I popped into the local up-scale grocery store and headed for the meat counter. My BBQ is not working (it needs a INTENSIVE clean). But I wanted meat anyway. Which is strange, as I am not a big meat eater. But meat reminds me of summer??
I found these delicious looking things. They are pork, wrapped around a mozzarella, parmesan, spinach and ham filling. I picked up one for me and one for Tim for $8. Not bad!
Here is one of them raw, pre-oven.
The sides have bread crumbs on them.
And here is the cooked product:
And here is what I ate with it:
Vegetable orzo salad (pre-made and bought at Pete’s), sundried olives and a side salad of spring mix, red onion, Jarlsberg cheese and avocado, dressed with balsamic vinegar. Plus a bottle glass of chardonnay.
It was good, but I could only eat 1/2 the pork. I just don’t like meat that much. The orzo salad was a big hit with both me and Tim and will be a summer staple!
We wrapped up the meal with a small piece of dark chocolate and spent an extra half a hour just sitting at the table drinking wine and chatting. I plan on a lazy Saturday night and will probably head to bed early.

mm, those pork things look delish! I’m like you though, I don’t eat a lot of meat.
I always look at those things at the meat counter and wonder what they are like!!! Good call on the review.
Are those from pork things from Pete’s too? I think I’ve had before, if so…They have lots of interesting things there, that’s for sure!
I almost bought the same salad, but picked out the other two…will try that onenext!
I’ve had those before I think and they are good! Well, I don’t think I’ve ever had a fancy Pete’s meat concoction that I didn’t like! (I’m loving all your pics and I’m so happy you got a new camera!)
