Today was one of those Mondays. You know, the kind of Monday that you find out your car battery is dead for no reason whatsoever* when you’re already late for work. [Keep in mind the car battery is dead - this is important for later in the story].
My phone was also dead. Thank goodness my apartment building has a direct line to a cab company. I booted it to work – complete with all my Booty Camp clothes and yoga mat. No way was I missing the last camp. I had to cab it to the park after work, but I got there.
It was a great class. Eszter is an amazing instructor. So amazing that I will be signing up for more classes! I won’t be able to do the June session because work already has me missing 2 classes due to a conference I have to attend in Toronto. But I am hoping to sign up for the July class (and continue signing up after that). My weight has stayed the same, but I have lost inches. And body fat. And gained muscle. And, more important to me – I feel amazing after each class. I am getting stronger and stronger. Although I still can’t do a plank
But if I did everything easily, I’d have no motivation to do better and more each time. I had to miss quite a few classes – mostly due to work but a couple to being sick. I can’t even imagine how much stronger I would be if I had made it to every class. Doing a DVD is great (I really like the Booty Camp DVD) but I need that motivation of an instructor and other participants to make myself push longer and harder.
Most of the other women in the class are coming back too. That says A LOT about Booty Camp Fitness to me. I would strongly encourage anyone to sign up for a 4 week session – and if you do, you’ll sign up for another 4 weeks, then another 8 weeks . . .
And here is a funny story that pulls together both my car battery dying and Booty Camp.
My car battery was dead. My in-laws came over to jump the car with Tim while I was at Booty Camp. So they decided to drive the car a bit and ended up at the park in time to pick me up. The only problem was that the battery died again – even after being driven for a while. They only brought the one car.
So Tim and FIL push the car down a hill so that Tim can jump in and start it. Easy peasy. Except the hill he is going down just happens to be a pedestrian-only walk way through the park – where Eszter and half the Booty Camp class are sitting! He had to yell at them to move out of the way.
My husband almost ran over my Booty Camp class!
So that was a little embarrassing. Now I’m going to be “that girl”. You know, the one that almost ran over her Booty camp instructor on the last day of class.
* Apparently an interior light was on. And just because I am the only person to ever drive the car it was blamed on me.

OK this totally made me laugh.
(mainly because all ended ok and also because I would totally be TIM here. Stuff like that ALWAYS seems to happen when Im behind the wheel…)
LMAO, sorry but I had to. This totally cracked me up! You are not “that girl” just look back and laugh at it all.
I do hate having car issues though. Boo.
Okay so car troubles and running over people aren’t normally funny business, but it does make for a funny story
Oh my gosh that is hilarious! Trust me… they are going to LOVE “that girl”. That is a great story.
I hope everything is okay with the car now.
And I’m SO glad you enjoy Booty Camp so much! That’s awesome!
That’s hysterical. I guess you could tell your instructor to ease up on the planks or your husband will try to run them down again!
OMG, that is too funny. The image of Tim and the car coming at a class is priceless.
