Me Not Happy

And I’m still sick!  Ugh!  The worst thing is that I am out of sick days to use (I get very very few sick days) so if I take any more time off I have to use vacation days.  And my vacation starts next week …. ugh.  I may try to tough it out at work tomorrow but I am coughing so much and feel so miserable.  I hate feeling so bad when I normally am so positive and happy feeling (especially lately).

Sicko

And I am sick.  Isn’t Tash always sick you ask?  Yes.  Yes, I am.  Ever since Tim started in the hospitals (i.e. the past year) I have been sick all the time.  He seems to pick up every cold and share it with me.  All I am hoping is that I am building up the most amazing immunity and will soon not be sick again for the rest of my life.  I imagine this is what a teacher has to go through for the first few years of teaching where every time a kid is sick, they get it too.

So moral of the story is that I was home from work yesterday and will be home again today.  And I had to cancel all my weekend plans :(

In other news, I am watching Big Brother for the first time.  All the ladies I lunch with watch it and convinced me to give it a try.  So far I am mumph.  I actually forgot it was on last night and was sad I had to switch over from Love it of List it LOL.  But I’m still keeping an open mind because I normally love trashy tv.

Blah Blah Blah

What a rainy time it has been lately!  It makes it so hard to get up in the morning for me.  Anyone else?

Tim is also sick, so I am dreading getting sick too.  So far so good *knock on wood*.

I haven’t been motivated to make anything interesting in the kitchen lately.  And the exercise front has been pretty sad.

But I’ve been very happy :)

La Senza Sale

I spent a wonderful afternoon at the mall.  It was one of those days I wanted to me by myself and randomly wonder around for hours looking and trying things on.

I bought:

1 pair of flats

12 panties (La Senza is having a buy 12 for 30$ sale and I bought 12 last week too)

6 bras (for about $6 each at La Senza)

1 jean skirt

1 shirt

1 cardi

2 presents for Tim

1 present for Mom

1 present for Dad

It was a successful trip.  I came home, made dinner (when Tim is sick I won’t let him cook so I have been cooking every meal lately).  And now I plan to read some books and munch on some cheese and crackers.  I love my life.

Humid

I am loving all this heat!  Tim is not.  He has a bad cold.  What a crappy time to be sick.

I’ve been doing a lot of BBQing this week.  A bit sad that I am having a hard time trying to grill mushrooms that taste amazing.  But I have been eating corn on the cob every day :)

Went to Boston Pizza last night for a woman from work’s going away dinner.  It was fun.  I am suppose to go visit my parents tomorrow and I hope it is a beautiful day because I want to go 4 wheeling!  Sometimes it’s nice to be able to escape out to the country.  And if it turns out to be a cold and rainy day, I’ll just go hot tubbing instead!

Saturday Clean

What a lovely weekend!

Tim and I bought a new BBQ and I am trying to assemble it while he is golfing with his Dad.  He assembled the last one, so it’s my turn.  Gah.  I am also doing laundry (6 loads done) and trying to clean.  When Tim gets home hopefully we’ll BBQ and go for a nice long walk and enjoy the beautiful day.

I popped into Lulu and returned a pair of pants Tim got me that I didn’t like – exchanges only so I got a hoodie/jacket.  Me likes that – although it is really overpriced for what it is.

Camp Fire

Spent last night at a cottage party down in the Valley.  Had a great time, but man am I old!  I like to go to be early and don’t like to drink.  So I’m going booze free and sticking to reasonable bedtimes.

I spent the majority of the night staring at the camp fire and roasting marshmallows.  It was pretty amazing.

I did a big grocery trip today and stocked up on healthy foods.  And I plan to get out for a run tomorrow.  I am so looking forward to having Thursday off!  I have to work Friday though :( And I may be going to visit my parents this weekend, but I plan to spend the weekend day relaxing at home with Tim (hopefully).

I need some sleep.  Good night!

Whirlwind

My life has been a whirlwind lately with no time to catch my breath (aka update the blog).  I am really hoping that I have some down time this week to write a post about my recent adventures – complete with pics.

Until then, I hope everyone is at least as happy as I am!

Today was one of those Mondays.  You know, the kind of Monday that you find out your car battery is dead for no reason whatsoever* when you’re already late for work. [Keep in mind the car battery is dead - this is important for later in the story].

My phone was also dead.  Thank goodness my apartment building has a direct line to a cab company.  I booted it to work – complete with all my Booty Camp clothes and yoga mat.  No way was I missing the last camp.  I had to cab it to the park after work, but I got there.

It was a great class.  Eszter is an amazing instructor.  So amazing that I will be signing up for more classes!  I won’t be able to do the June session because work already has me missing 2 classes due to a conference I have to attend in Toronto.  But I am hoping to sign up for the July class (and continue signing up after that).  My weight has stayed the same, but I have lost inches.  And body fat.  And gained muscle.  And, more important to me – I feel amazing after each class.  I am getting stronger and stronger.  Although I still can’t do a plank :(  But if I did everything easily, I’d have no motivation to do better and more each time.  I had to miss quite a few classes – mostly due to work but a couple to being sick.  I can’t even imagine how much stronger I would be if I had made it to every class.  Doing a DVD is great (I really like the Booty Camp DVD) but I need that motivation of an instructor and other participants to make myself push longer and harder.

Most of the other women in the class are coming back too.  That says A LOT about Booty Camp Fitness to me.  I would strongly encourage anyone to sign up for a 4 week session – and if you do, you’ll sign up for another 4 weeks, then another 8 weeks . . .

And here is a funny story that pulls together both my car battery dying and Booty Camp.

My car battery was dead.  My in-laws came over to jump the car with Tim while I was at Booty Camp.  So they decided to drive the car a bit and ended up at the park in time to pick me up.  The only problem was that the battery died again – even after being driven for a while.   They only brought the one car.

So Tim and FIL push the car down a hill so that Tim can jump in and start it.  Easy peasy.  Except the hill he is going down just happens to be a pedestrian-only walk way through the park – where Eszter and half the Booty Camp class are sitting! He had to yell at them to move out of the way.

My husband almost ran over my Booty Camp class!

So that was a little embarrassing.   Now I’m going to be “that girl”.  You know, the one that almost ran over her Booty camp instructor on the last day of class.

* Apparently an interior light was on.  And just because I am the only person to ever drive the car it was blamed on me.

Falafel it up

I ended up eating minimal ribs last night.  Instead I chowed down on corn on  the cob and drank a lot of Malibu on ice (it’s a great sipping drink, although not as great as banana liqueur on ice).

Today I did some errands – post office, store – before I did 4 loads of laundry.

For dinner, Tim and I made falafel pitas.  Very yummy, and there is enough for much lunch tomorrow and for dinner tomorrow night (served in cous cous because there is only 1 pita left).

I want this weekend to go on and on ….
